Spark Naturals has a new Item of the Week. It's called the After Sun Spray Kit, which includes Witch Hazel, a 4oz spray bottle, along with 5ml bottles of Lavender, Roman Chamomile and Carrot Seed Oil. Individually, these run $52.78 all together. With this kit, you can get it all for $34.99! Use my promo code, theosecos, for an additional 10% off! Free shipping over $55.
When working with essential oils, you should always use a carrier oil to dilute them. It's not necessary and can actually be harmful to put them onto your skin neat (undiluted) due to their potency. Here's a couple of charts I saw today that I felt would be great to share.
This sale is now up and running! If you've been wanting a diffuser, here's your chance to get 20% off of one today through Sunday night! They are 10% on Spark Naturals' website, but use my promo code to get an additional 10% off!
Free shipping over $55!
Discounted are.....oils from flowering plants!
You can receive 20% off these oils with this sale price and then by using my promo code, theosecos.

I've been meaning to make this foundation powder for soooo long but I waited until I ran out of my old stuff. Anyway, I went by a recipe I found from Live Simply but tweaked it a bit. I used all of the ingredients it listed:
1/8 c. Arrowroot Powder (says flour but I just used powder)
2 TBSP Cacao Powder
1/8 tsp Nutmeg & Ginger (you'll need to tweak this if you have a more olive skin tone)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Bentonite Clay
5 drops Vitamin E
6 drops Lavender EO
Spark Naturals is introducing a new promotion today. Instead of having a new deal weekly, they are switching to a few different deals every month! If you're a procrastinator like myself, you cut it close to getting your order in to get your savings if it's only a week promotion. This way, you have a month to think about it :)
Let me break down the savings!! (This is my favorite part, I am a numbers nerd).
The Aromatic Kit (Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Wild Orange, Shield, Respire, Bergamot, Zen, White Fir, & Ylang Ylang) is normally $62.50. The sale price is $56.25. If you were to buy all of the oils separately that are included in this kit, it would cost you $83.75. When you use my promo code, your price for this kit will be $50.62, that saves you over $33!!
Hemp Seed Oil is normally $9.99 for the 4oz or $18.99 for the 8oz. The sale prices are $9 for the 4oz & $17.10 for the 8oz. With my promo code, you'll get these for $8.10/4oz & $15.39/8oz!
The Bamboo diffuser is new to SN. It is usually $64.99. The sale price is $63. With my promo code, it can be yours for $56.70!
The Organic Body Care Recipe Book is $18.97. It's on sale for $17. 06. With the promo code, it will cost you $15.35. I have this book and I love it so far, especially for a beginner. It describes all of the EOs and what to use them for, contraindications and also many of the carrier oils, which tells you skin types to use them on & their properties. I did buy this book cheaper through iBooks and I am sure you can through Amazon, but it would so be worth paying a little more to have a hard copy of it.
Lemongrass costs $9.00 for the 15ml bottle & $5.99 for the 5ml. The sale price puts it at $8.10/15ml & $5.40/5ml. With my promo code, you'll be getting it for $7.29/15ml & $4.86/5ml.
Amend+ is an extra strength version of Amend. It's perfect for athletes or for minor muscle and joint pain. The regular price of this blend is $52.50/15ml & $27.50/5ml. The sale price is $47.25/15ml & $24.75/5ml. With the promo code, you can get it for $42.52/15ml & $22.27/5ml.
All of these deals will be valid through February 28th!!
With the Oil of the Month Club from Spark Naturals, you can stock up on oils at a very low price. It includes a 15ml bottle of each oil, no tax, and free shipping for $15.99, minus January's Essential 4 Pack. They are 5ml bottles. The Essential 4 Pack (Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint & Melaleuca) is regularly $19.99, a $4 discount! If you were to buy all of those oils separate from the kit, they would cost you $26.43. This is such a great deal!
I've broken down the savings, some not so much, for each Oil of the Month to show you what you can save buy enrolling in this today. You can enroll at any time and also de-enroll at any time. If you just want to do it for certain oils, go right ahead!

Are you a procrastinator or just do not like to take the time to go get your jewelry cleaned like me? Well, here's a natural jewelry cleaner that will make your jewels shine without the hassle!
1/2 cup Witch Hazel or white vinegar
1 drop Melaleuca EO (tea tree)
Mason Jar or recycled glass jar
Put your jewelry in the glass jar. Cover with the Witch Hazel or vinegar. Add your Melaleuca and swirl to mix it. Allow your jewelry to soak overnight. The next morning, sprinkle baking soda over your jewelry and scrub with the toothbrush and rinse with water.
**Evidence that this jewelry cleaner is working is by seeing floaties on the top of the liquid.
This jewelry cleaner was shared from DIY Natural.
Looking for a makeup remover that you don't have to scrub and scrub to get your mascara off or that irritates your face or eyes? This oil-based makeup remover quickly dissolves makeup and even waterproof mascara in an instant while it soothes the skin, without clogging your pores or causing breakouts! If you're thinking to yourself, "I have too oily of skin to try this," it's okay! Jojoba Oil, the main oil in this recipe, dissolves excess sebum, allowing your pores to breathe.
Here's the recipe:
Jojoba Oil- 2 oz
Vitamin E Oil (capsule)
Optional- 3 drops Essential Oil (Lavender or Carrot Seed Oil are good options)
2 oz dark colored glass jar- here's a good example.
Fill your jar 3/4 of the way full with the Jojoba Oil, prick the Vitamin E Capsule and empty it into the jar, add the 3 drops of your EO, and put the lid on and shake well.
To use: Shake well before each use & apply about 1/2 teaspoon of the oil to massage on your face, especially around your eyes. When done, gently wipe off with a cotton pad or soft wash cloth.
Wash your face with your cleanser after.
Here's where I found this recipe :) Enjoy!
Spark Naturals Item of the Week is Clary Sage! Clary Sage is pretty much God's gift for women. Not only will it help you with cramps, bloating, and all pains that accompany our monthly visitors, but it also helps regulate your cycles and is good for uterine health in general!
There are so many benefits of Clary Sage, but these are a few of my favorites other than what I said earlier: it helps strengthen gums, helps tone skin, regulates bowels, it's an antidepressant, it's an aphrodisiac, helps with spasms and convulsions, and is also a sedative.
You can get a bottle on discount this week, until the 9th, with an additional 10% off with my promo code. There's free shipping when you spend $55.
Here is a chart that Jillie put together that shows her 40 Uses for her Top 4 Favorite Oils, which is also an Essential 4 Pack from Spark Naturals! (Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, and Melaleuca). The Essential 4 Pack is available in 5ml or 15ml kits. If you already have these four oils and are wondering what else they can be used for, here you go :)

I ran across this recipe today and had to share it, perfect time of the year! I am sharing this recipe from a woman named Karen Fioravanti. She used to own a essential oil company, but quit to become a full time mother and author. Anyway, here's the recipe:
Reverse Agave Caramel Apples
-8-10 Granny Smith Apples
-2 quarts cold water
-1/4 to 1/2 cup lemon juice
Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup lemon juice to the 2 quarts cold water. The lemon juice helps keep the apples from browning.
Cut the apples in half and use a spoon to create a circle to remove the core and a little flesh.
Drop the cut apples into the lemon/water mixture and let them soak for 5 minutes. Use this time to make your caramel mixture.
1 1/3 cup Agave Nectar
1/2 cup Butter
2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
1-In a saucepan, combine agave, butter and 1 cup of the heavy cream. Set aside the second cup for later.
2-Bring contents to a rolling boil, while stirring frequently until the mixture darkens and thickens slightly.
3-After the mixture darkens and thickens, add the 2nd cup of heavy cream.
4-Bring the mixture back to a rolling boil and stir frequently.
5-Cook until the mixture forms a fairly firm ball when dropped into cold water. If you have a candy thermometer, it should be between 244-250 degrees F.
6-Once your caramel is ready, remove it from heat.
7-Pat apples dry and set them in a muffin tin, core side up.
8-Pour caramel into apples and allow to completely cool.
9-Eat whole or slice!
I came across this recipe and thought maybe I should start incorporating it into our bedtime routine. Putting Lavender EO into it helps make it calming. This recipe also contains magnesium & sulfur from the Epsom Salts, which is absorbed into the skin to help those little bodies process stress and toxins. The Epsom Salts also preserves the Playdoh.
Here's the recipe!
*Makes about 4 cups, plenty for 3-4 kids*
The recipe says to put all ingredients into a large saucepan. (I am going to leave out the EO. Heating EOs will breakdown their healing properties, making them less effective.)
Cook over low/medium heat stirring occasionally, making sure to scrape the bottom of the pan to ensure it's all mixed together. It's done when it stops being all gloopy and more doughy. Allow to cool, add your EO, and then knead until it's completely smooth and the EO is dispersed well.
Store in an airtight container, it should last for months.
Once I make this use it with Izzy, I will report back with any issue/changes/comments!!
The picture posted above is shared from the link where I found this recipe. Here's the link: http://www.healthhomehappy.com/2013/09/organic-calming-playdoh.html
Drum roll please..........
LXR Anxiety Blend!!!
I am so excited about this sale. I can't tell you how many times this has chilled me out during my workday. It's made up of Lavender, Spruce, Rosewood, Blue Tansy, Frankincense, Sweet Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, and Vanilla. When you feel any signs of stress, anxiety, or depression kick in, you can diffuse this blend or use it topically at the base of your brain stem, shoulders, or the bottoms of your feet. You can dilute it with a carrier oil for sensitive skin or for children.
For a stronger calming affect, you can pair this with the Zen Blend. It's known to be a liquid "Xanax", which I use quite often. When I get to work, I like to start up my diffuser with this combo. It prevents any sort of stress that could happen AND the smell is amazing.
The sale price this week for LXR is $26.67 for a 15ml bottle, from $29.63. The 5ml bottle is priced at $11.47, from $12.74. With my promo code, theosecos, you can save an additional 10% on your entire order. Free shipping for orders over $55.
This sale should be live around 12pm, Monday!
Help soothe your cough with essential oils! No one likes to sleep terribly because they're up all night coughing. Here are some oils to use for each type of cough:
Dry hacking cough?
~2 drops Eucalyptus
~2 drops Rosemary
~2 drops Lemon
Wet throat cough?
~2 drops Peppermint
~2 drops Rosemary
~2 drops Lime
Deep painful chest cough?
~2 drops Rosemary
~2 drops Eucalyptus
~2 drops Frankincense
Layer the oils on your chest and lightly rub them in. Let the oils sit on your skin as you cup your hands and inhale deeply for a few minutes. Pull up the neck of your shirt over your mouth & nose and breathe deeply until the aroma dissipates. If you're not getting enough oxygen, take a break with a couple of breaths, then resume.
You will begin to feel the oils penetrate deeper into your lungs and you will get a cooling feeling, this is normal. You need to set aside several minutes every time you do this. You might need to do it several times per day and if you have coughing attacks at night.
You can use this on kids, but I would only use it with a carrier oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil works the best.
This was shared from Spark Naturals, who got it from EveryEssential.me.
Now that it's starting to cool down outside, my biggest fear will be moving inside. Here are a couple of natural alternatives to repel these big buggers!
